By F. Scott Fitzgerald
Adapted and Directed by Peter Joucla

"The parties were bigger. The pace was faster, the shows were broader,
the buildings were higher, the morals were looser..."
F. Scott Fitzgerald

It’s 1922 and we welcome you back to prohibition Wilton’s.

SURELY there is no better place to experience this new and immersive adaptation
produced by the Wilton’s Team and directed by Peter Joucla. Expect late night
foxtrots, moonshine in teapots, pearls and flappers, bootleggers and millionaires.

Published in 1925, four years before the catastrophic collapse of the American stock
markets, Fitzgerald’s novel graphically portrays a society being destroyed by
money and dishonesty, an American Dream of happiness and individualism
degenerating into the mere pursuit of wealth.

The Great Gatsby novel was originally adapted for the stage for Tour De Force Theatre
by Peter Joucla in 2011. Wilton’s Music Hall is producing a fresh and site specific
adaptation. Filled with live and evocative jazz music from the twenties and recreating
the glitz and decadence of the period, you are invited to the party. The evening doesn't
have to end after the show, the bar will have a live band or vintage DJ until closing.
Call the box office for more information.

Dress in your 20s best, it’s all happening at Wilton’s speakeasy….

We are extremely grateful for our support from Swing Patrol.

"Joucla’s adaptation captures the essence of Fitzgerald’s 1925 novel with
unceasing zest" The Times

"Never have I seen this building so cleverly used, or so vibrantly alive.”
Evening Standard

"...the decadence of F Scott Fitzgerald’s world has soaked into every fibre of Wilton’s…”
