Simo Lagnawi (Morocco)


Gnawa artist Simo Lagnawi is the leading UK player of the Guembri – a
traditional lute-like stringed instrument made from camel skin. With a
mesmeric voice and dance moves to match, he is a charismatic and engaging
performer, swiftly gathering fans since his move from Morocco to the UK
three years ago.

Mosi Conde (Guinea)


Master Kora player Mosi Conde is a Djeli Denie – young griot from Guinea
Conakry’s leading family: Sekouba ‘Diamond Fingers’ Diabate & Mory Kante. He creates music that excites & delights, his virtuoso skill evident
throughout. "We griots are born in music, every family plays together.
Music is our life”.

Kanti Qena (Peru)


Flute & Kena player Carlos Saldana aka Kanti Qena is a multi-
instrumentalist from Peru and a well known afro-andean and fusionist musician based in London. His band Andean Beats include musicians from Chile to Bolivia who will be joining him on the night to play traditional music from the Andes.

Baba Adesose Wallace (Nigeria)


Master drummer and multi-instrumentalist Baba Adesose Wallace is an elder
statesman of African music both in Africa and the Diaspora since the 70’s.
His musical scope takes the listener on a journey thru Yoruba traditions
and onto Afro-Beat and High Life using an array of traditional instruments
and joined by guests.

Pe-De-Jurema (Brazil)


Hailing from Brazil Pe-de-Jurema is a band based in energetic roots
Brazilian music such as forro (baiao & xote), maracatu (baque virado),
samba de roda, ciranda, samba-coco and more. Their performance always
involves the public who is always invited and motivated to dance creating
a proper Brazilian atmosphere.

Planetman & Friends (The World)


Global Beats Festival's curator and host Planetman is an inspirational
singer, song-writer and guitarist who's work at Passing Clouds during the
last six years helped create a truly international music collective here
in East-London. Planetman will be joined by guest musicians to play a special selection of his soulful songs in a Roots, Reggae and Afro-Funk style.
