Kreutzer Concerts presented by Peter Sheppard Skærved

25th July . 7.00pm .
£7.50 - £15 full price, £5 - £12.50 concessions

Following the success of the first ‘Voice of the Violin’ in 2017, Grammy-nominated soloist Peter Sheppard Skærved explores the violin in the 18th and 19th Centuries.

Listen to virtuoso works by Giovanni Battista Viotti, Niccolo Paganini, Ole Bull, Charles de Beriot, and more.
Plus two world premieres: Roger Redgate - Caprices, and Evis Sammoutis-Nicosia - Caprices.

The virtuosi and their music reflected the turmoil of the Romantic era. Viotti played for Marie Antoinette, Paganini sent audiences wild on his first visit to London, and Ole Bull narrowly escaped a steamship wreck, saving just his violins.

Ben Hebbert, acclaimed for his insights into the great violins, introduces instruments from the period.
