Steve Pretty takes you on a Darwinian voyage of discovery through musical evolution, leaving no stone unrolled as he explores everything from prehistoric bone flutes to the cutting-edge organic speed chill-hop Gabba scene.

Why is music central to every culture on the planet? What even is music in the first place? Are Led Zeppelin the transition fossils between medieval minstrels and Muse?

Part theatre, part primary-school-music-lesson-for-adults, and part stadium-rock-band-gig-performed-by-one-man-in-a-small-room, this unique show promises to change the way you hear music forever. But, you know, in a good way.

Steve is best known as the bandleader of Hackney Colliery Band ('one of the greatest live bands that we have in this country' - BBC Radio 2), and is a performer, composer and music producer.

Steve will be joined by acclaimed comedian, actor and satirist, Marcus Brigstocke to chat about what music means to him and how Prince's death led Marcus to take up the trombone in his forties.

Approximate running time: 1 hour 50 minutes, including a 20 minute interval
