Mozart, Salzburg and Johann Michael Haydn

26th July . Talk at 7pm, Concert at 7:30pm .

The fifth concert in the Mozart Salons series begins the move towards the concertante and serenade-like works, following the excitement and colour of the Violin/Piano Sonatas earlier this year. It also explores the influence on the composer of his friendship, much to his father's irritation, with Johann Michael Haydn. To find out more about the story behind the music, be sure to catch Peter's pre-concert talk.

Edward Cowie made a big impression with the premiere of his 3rd Quartet at Wilton’s two years ago. Now ‘Particle Partita’ receives its premiere, played by two alternating instruments, as the two virtuoso violins of  Peter Sheppard Skærved and Mihailo Trandafilovski cross swords!
