Joe Stilgoe and The Entertainers – Welcome to the Club

Tue 22 - Thu 24 Jul, 7:30pm

£12.00 – £24 full price | £9.50 – £21.50 concession

Running time: 2 hours, including interval

Titans of the UK jazz scene, Joe Stilgoe and Giacomo Smith have come together celebrating the
characters who frequent jazz clubs with their band The Entertainers – an enticing project
featuring members of Kansas Smitty’s House Band, Joe’s own band and guest vocalists Emma
Smith and Pete Horsfall. The ultimate jazz supergroup.

Songs inspired by the world of jazz clubs, audiences who come and go, characters who can be
found at the bars of any club in the world. Each song tells a different tale, presents a different
character – the music is about membership, acceptance, a shared love of something vital,
quixotic rules and regulations, the minutiae of everynight life, and importantly, the world of
entertainment. With these shows, Joe and his cohorts have created a wondrously immersive
night of entertainment, so from the moment you step into the venue it will feel like the greatest
night at the greatest jazz club on earth. You never know, you might be sitting next to one of the
acts…

A landmark album released to coincide with three nights at Wilton’s, 2025 will be the year The
Entertainers really make their mark. This is a project that shines a light on those in the darkness,
those who seek solace and safety in the anonymity of the shadows – these beautifully crafted
new songs are inspired by the world of jazz clubs, the audiences who come and go, the
characters who can be found at the bars of any club in the world.
