Soho Songs

Cahoots Theatre Company presents Barb Jungr in Soho Songs

Barb Jungr performs a song cycle celebrating Soho
by Barb Jungr and Mike Lindup
Accompanied by Michael Roulston
Directed by Denise Silvey

Soho. A single word, a single square mile, that contained a world unto itself, sparkling and shady, glamorous and gritty, cultured and crude. Time and gentrification may have banished Soho’s more notorious denizens into history, but for those who remember or who care to listen, phantoms still call out from its darkened alleys and posh storefronts.

Cabaret legend Barb Jungr and jazz great Mike Lindup of Level 42 heeded that call and crafted their dazzling new song cycle, Soho Songs, to give new life to those faded voices.

“Barb Jungr and Mike Lindup, words and music, have created this poignant homage to the Soho that many of us remember from our youth in the 1970s and 80s. A Soho before Westminster Council embarked on a clean up campaign. Gone are the women working the streets discreetly from a doorway or a red light positioned high up in a window, with a discreet name on a bell push. Gone are porn cinemas. The newsagent with a discreet back room for the purchase of more exotic publications. When there was a single gay bar, discreetly situated down a flight of stairs, and a club or two with a pullback grill to be vetted before gaining entrance rather like a New York speakeasy from the 1930s.”

Stoker Wilde

Book and Lyrics by Eric Rosen
Music and Lyrics by Rodney Bush
Directed by Seimi Campbell

Two legendary writers. Two iconic monsters. One explosive, secret rivalry.

Before they transformed British theatre and defined queer horror, Bram Stoker and Oscar Wilde were just two Dublin boys who ran away to London. There, they navigated secret and not so secret gay lives, climbed the ladders of society and culture, and fuelled a fierce, overlooked rivalry that birthed Dracula and The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Stoker Wilde is a shocking new glam-rock musical that uncovers the hidden connection between two literary icons. With music by Rodney Bush (of glam-rock sensation Tony & The Kiki, @tonyandthekiki) book by Eric Rosen (creator of the cult classic Venice, @ericbrosen), this concert staged production is directed by Seimi Campbell (@seimicampbell).

This Halloween, discover the untold story of Stoker Wilde. Book your tickets now!

FLOP! The Best Songs From The Worst Musicals

James Seabright presents Arthur Hull

The virtuosic Arthur Hull makes his London debut with an updated version of FLOP! the musical cabaret inspired by some of Broadway’s least loved musicals.

FLOP! features the best songs from the worst musicals – a motley assortment of the misunderstood, critically panned and financially catastrophic, including some obscure and forgotten gems. The show made its critically acclaimed debut at Adelaide Fringe in 2025 winning the Best Emerging Artist Award before playing Edinburgh Festival Fringe later the same year where it won Best Entertainment at the Dark Chat Awards.

Funny, fast-paced and full of amazing facts, it’s a love letter to Broadway and the West End’s biggest musical theatre misfires!

Arthur Hull was a top three finalist on Adam Lambert’s team on “The Voice” Australia on Channel 7 and Australia’s National Busking Champion 2024. In the same year, he created his first solo show FLOP! winning Best Emerging Artist at 2025’s Adelaide Fringe Awards and enthusiastic critical acclaim there, at Melbourne Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe. Arthur is a graduate of the world-famous Flying Fruit Fly Circus.

Ruth

Presented by Ruth Theatre Productions in association with Cahoots Theatre Company

Love. Death. Obsession.

The Ruth Ellis story had them all.

In 1955, Ruth Ellis became the last woman to be executed in Britain. A glamorous nightclub hostess. A violent, upper-class lover. A series of gunshots that shocked the nation. Tried, condemned and hanged at Holloway Prison, her fate was sealed by a society quick to judge and slow to listen.
Now her story is retold with urgency and fire.

RUTH is a bold British noir musical that delves into sex, class, power and injustice in 1950s Britain. In the era of #MeToo, Ellis’s story of abuse, control and patriarchal judgment feels chillingly contemporary—less a historical scandal than a modern reckoning.

Featuring a score by John Cameron (Les Misérables), Francis Rockliff and James Reader, with lyrics by Caroline Slocock and John Cameron, and a book by Caroline SlocockRUTH transforms true crime into searing musical drama.

Directed by Andy Morahan (Boogie Man) and  Denise Silvey, RUTH plays at Wilton’s Music Hall, 18–28 March 2026.

This is not just her story.
It’s ours.

There will be a Q&A following the performance on Tuesday 24th March.  Audience members with tickets to that night’s performance are invited to stay if they wish.
The panel will include:
Laura Enston, granddaughter of Ruth Ellis
Saul Lehrfreund, Co-Founder & Co-Executive Director of the Death Penalty Project.
Emily Buchanan (Chair), Sunday, BBC Radio 4

Billy Budd

Everyone is strangely drawn to Billy Budd, the handsome sailor. Conscripted to fight on a warship where the authorities are nervous of protest and mutiny, Billy Budd is a calming, shining presence.

But after the ship’s policeman unexpectedly makes a false accusation against him, Billy cannot find the words to defend himself. When an actual crime is committed, the hastily arranged trial that follows is a very warped version of ‘justice’.

Adapted from the novella by Herman Melville and combined with sea shanties sung by the ensemble, including ‘Drunken Sailor,’ ‘Wellerman’ and ‘Blow The Man Down,’ this brand new piece of music theatre is presented for the first time in a staged concert version.

The Faction return to the iconic Wilton’s Music Hall for the sixth time, following their acclaimed productions of The Talented Mr Ripley (now on UK tour), Macbeth and Howl.

Cast and creative team to be announced.

Potty The Plant

A charmingly dark, whimsically adult, joyously subversive, musical delight!
Starring our titular character, Potty! A singing, talking, tap dancing, potted plant.

When mysterious events begin to occur at Little Boo Boo’s General Hospital, a ragtag bunch of
dysfunctional nurses must pull together to save the day. What could be happening to all the
missing children? Will the beautiful Miss Lacey ever find true love? Is there more to the
nasty-looking Dr. Acula than meets the eye?

Potty The Plant is an hour of side-splitting, earwormy, musical fun, that begs the audience to
not take anything too seriously.
