This free family weekender (all ages welcome) will
be a full on tribute to music hall and Wilton’s heritage. Get involved with community
music hall shows, make friends over arts and crafts activities, sing along to
a Victorian hit list, listen to memories of music hall and Wilton's or leave your own in our memory booths
and generally soak up a good old fashioned East End atmosphere.
The John Wilton Room, formerly known as The Library
due to our random collection of books, leaflets and flyers, will also be officially
opened this weekend as a dedicated
history and heritage room, with lots of fascinating and informative displays.

Art, Music Hall and Circus in the Belle Époque
10:30am - 4pm at the National Gallery, 6pm - 10pm at Wilton's
Alongside our family event on the Saturday, The National Gallery will be holding a study day for adults. From
trick-riding to trapeze, they will be taking a closer
look at the sheer
variety and ingenuity of circus and music hall acts and how these performances inspired the Impressionists and
others, to innovate.
Wilton's and
the National Gallery are offering a special combined ticket that
includes access to: the study day (taking place at the National Gallery
between 11am - 4pm), a special historic talk at Wilton's
about the entertainment that took place here in the Victorian age (from
6pm) and entry to Wilton's Cockney Sing-A-Long.
