Originally from Tel-Aviv, Uri moved to London 2 years ago after winning the Shure songwriting award, which was judged by Frank Turner that year. Since then, he has been developing his indie folk-rock sound, adding in more electronic influences to his delicate songs.
U.R.I cites an eclectic range of musical influences, from classic songwriters such as Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith and Nick Drake, to current artist such as Bon Iver, Bjork and St. Vincent. This is reflected in the diversity of his debut E.P. Black Flag, released on October 2015, which was produced by Richard Formby (Wild Beasts, Ghostpet) and Orel Tamuz.
