Magic Lantern

Drop-In Workshop

Watch a magic lantern show and make your own slide
2pm - 4pm, 3+

If you came to our Magic of Music Hall Scene in Time weekender last October, you will have been captivated by the wonderful magic lantern show given by The Magic Lantern Society and the spectacularly colourful selection of slides they brought along for their stall. We are very lucky to be able to offer the chance to listen to watch lantern shows and  make your very own acetate slide to take home.

Aileen Butler is a magic lanternist and has been a member of the Society for 20 years. She regularly entertains audiences throughout the UK using the lantern she inherited from her grandfather and she will be telling short stories, illustrated by magic lantern slides, throughout the two-hour session as well as teaching parents and children how to make slides.
