Enter the world of tango diva Violetta, an ageing singer who lives out her dreams in the suburban milongas of Buenos Aires.

This fully staged evening of specially arranged popular opera, tango and musical numbers features opera singer Ann Liebeck in the title role. She is joined by West End performer and contemporary dancer Nuno Queimado and Champion tango couple Miriam and Dante. This captivating performance will also be enhanced by special projections by Viennese opera designer and artist Gilles Gubelmann.

Live music from virtuoso Cuban jazz violinist Omar Puente and his guest tango band, featuring star bandoneon player Julian Rowlands of Midnight Tango (Olivier award-nominated with Tango Siempre), accompanies the action on stage as Violetta wanders the streets and milongas in search of her long lost love.

The show has received enthusiastic reviews from audiences at Kings Place, Purcell Room QEH, Edinburgh Festival Fringe and at Artsdepot, Finchley.

The CD Violetta's Last Tango produced by Julian Rowlands was launched at Pizza Express Jazz Club, Pheasantry in April 2016 and has received 5 star reviews on Amazon. New English performing translations have been specially written for this show.

Try your hand at Tango with a taster workshop from Paula Duarte and Martin Espindola  at 7pm on Monday 24th April.
