A presenting of love lyrics, poems, and drawings
drawn from the life of the author, his grandmother, his dog
and the lives of Orpheus, Saint Valentine
and Mrs. Cooper of Cheadle Hulme.
The bitter, the sweet, the long and the short shrift:
how not to succeed in dancing advancing
at the school discoteque.

Love cuts
love's very sharp
a harpoon through an easy chair
just wait until the bees come home
and find you just relaxing there.

The inimitable John Hegley is a regular sell-out at The Edinburgh Festival. He has performed at the Montreal Comedy Festival, the USA Comedy Festival in Aspen, with Ulrika Jonsson & Anita Dobson in The Pyjama Game and on BBC R4's Hearing With Hegley.

Hegley is widely known as one of the country's most innovative comic poets with several best-selling volumes of poetry to his name.

Join us for some "marvellous, joyful fun" (The Telegraph) at Wilton's Music Hall for his latest one-man show, accompanied by the double bass of Julia Doyle and the single brass of Chris Dowding. Perfect for the hopelessly romantic and the romantically hopeful alike!

Watch out for paper cuts. Devised for adults, but of interest to the odd nine-year-old.

Running time: 90 minutes + 20 minute interval
