Glitch – the true story of the post office scandal

Pam Stubbs has been sub-postmistress of Barkham Post Office for over twenty years, respected and loved by the community. But when unexplained discrepancies start appearing in her accounts, Pam soon finds herself at the heart of the biggest miscarriage of justice in English legal history.

A powerful, emotional and fascinating story from the excellent RABBLE Theatre. ★★★★★ West End Best Friend

Glitch is an inspirational true story, based on the experiences of Pam and her colleagues. The play was created with sub-postmistresses and masters affected by the events, key members of the legal process and commissioned by the University of Reading.

By A Lady – The Life and Wit of Jane Austen

Presented by Hambletts Productions

It is a truth universally acknowledged thatJane Austen was one of the wittiest observers of human relationships, and female friendships, who ever put pen to parchment.  By A Lady tells Jane Austen’s life story from her own writing, woven with favourite moments from the immortal characters she created, including Elizabeth and Jane, Emma and Harriet, the Dashwood sisters, Mrs Bennet, and (hold on to your bonnets) Lady Catherine de Bourgh – not forgetting Mr Bennet, Darcy, Captain Wentworth, Mr Collins, and many more.

Set against a sparkling musical backdrop that surprises as much as it delights, we invite you to loosen your stays, and enjoy this celebration of Austen’s wit, sharpness, and sheer delight in the foibles of human behaviour.

From the same creative team who brought GEORGE Eliot in Words and Music and Red Sky at Sunrise: Laurie Lee in Words and Music to Wilton’s.

Jane Austen’s words are (respectfully) penned by Deirdre Shields, and performed by two (delightful) actors, with music (mischievously) arranged by David Le Page (Violin), and Nick Stringfellow (Cello). By A Lady is (graciously) directed by Judy Reaves.

Originally commissioned by, and presented at, Stratford Literary Festival 2025.

Bear: A Work In Progress

Bear: A Work In Progress follows Phoebe, a second year university student, whose father has just jumped off the roof of Aldi in Watford, accidentally dressed like Paddington Bear.

It is a play about growing up fast, in the wake of a catastrophic event in which a young person’s life is thrown into turmoil. It is a piece of comedy gig-theatre with an electric soundtrack that pulsates through the narrative in the form of a live band, who aid Phoebe in her journey of accepting and rewriting what she knows of her father after the catastrophe.

We are very excited to be staging an `In-Concert’ version of Bear for the first time at Wilton’s Music Hall as part of their Creative Residency Programme. We would like to thank everyone who has donated to our crowdfunder, and who have supported Bear in any capacity thus far!

Director: Selwin Hulme-Teague
Producer: Emma Aprile
Writer-Actor: Lucy Chamberlain
